Vivify-The Beauty Lab is a brand in the field of cosmetology with branches allover Greece.
BllendDesignOffice was commissioned for the overall design and environmental branding of new corporate in Cosmetic and Wellness Services. The featured project refers to one of the branches in Kiprou street, Glifada Athens Greece, extending over three floors of 550 sq metres. The design stemmed from the brand’s deliverable to create a contemporary space that invests on cutting edge technologies while offering at the same time classic treatments based on ancient herbal and medicinal therapies. The resulting proposal was to create a vivifying space that emits the austerity of scientific labs, while adding familiar familiar connotations of classic interiors.
The inspiration for the design concept of the ground reception area came from zen philosophy and the dyadic nature of cosmos. Demonstrating two opposite halves, it combines white lava plaster- hinting clinical white ambience and scientific reason-with chocolate brown which comes from the classic brown palette and brings culinary and tasteful connotations of human desires. Linear design is accentuated by the use of Led strips, while the interchange with Polylines, breaks solid geometry hinting innovation and originality.
The upper lever, acknowledging the need for many individual treatment rooms had to feel as spacious and private as possible. Allocated for the technologically supported treatments, the design borrows the warmth of classic wood paneling in chocolate brown and a delicious color palette in biscuit brown, pastry white and Chantilly combining human nature with neutral warmth. Metallic accents in gold and copper enhance the classic ambience, while the linear lighting in hallways assists way finding with reference to clinical labs.
Most of the furniture items were custom designed and manufactured to enhance the feeling of originality and avoid uniformity with popular commercial spaces. The lower level has been assigned for the hammam, sauna and steam rooms and changing lockers. It offers also a quick access to a central spot for nail and specialty limb treatments, while the journey is completed with the private rooms designed with fiber optics and zen austerity offering classic spa remedies and herbal treatments. The same warm palette is combined with more sheer and glossy finishes, while the sharp geometry hints amore clinical ambience. The result is a lab that reflects the spirit of minimalism immersed in warm and familiar luxury.
